An agent of darkness and variety, Tonikom bestows upon the masses an incredible sophomore release. Run entirely by one of the most attractive women to ever participate in the underground, Tonikom is under the label Hymen Records (which I find incredibly humorous). Her music is a diverse composition which combines drum and bass with IDM, aggrotech, and some dubstep, and is solidified with an immense and glorious sound-scape of dark/avant-garde ambience.
Big City Nights provides the ideal soundtrack for those late night city ventures. The song, written by one of the most innovative electronic artists alive today (Undermathic), paints a vivid picture of life walking through dark portent streets. I believe there is something beautiful and deep hidden underneath the superficial layers of dread and uncertainty portrayed by this aphotic piece. A hidden archetypal feeling that wraps around your mind and soul, firmly planting an inner urban dream-scape of tenterhooks that you could lose yourself in. The track is from Undermathic's album 10:10 P.M. from 2010.
