Alien Sex Fiend, Phosgore, Psyclon Nine, SAM

We need not forget the classics, and while none of us (or maybe one of you fans, or people who stumbled across the site, you might have I suppose) were able to see the Batcave in action in London Alien Sex Fiend remind us all that it was the place to be for that particularly delightful post-punk, and occasionally early industrial, sound.

While on the search for a particular brand of aggrotech I stumbled across Phosgore, and to be fair while it paled in direct comparison to my desired sound (see SAM below) this album is by no means mediocre. While eventually groups in this genre can start to sound the same there is enough variation here to let seasoned listeners know that this isn't a carbon-copy clone, and lucky when you get the people dancing the bands originality becomes rather negligible.

While many have heard Psyclon Nine's later albums the debut from the group focuses on a more industrial/aggrotech image and really puts in perspective how much the band grew as time went on. While Nero still favors that particular flare of distortion the samples and effects are far less developed and nuanced that their final works. Don't be fooled however, this is still the same band that completely rocked the industry and brought some shock back after Manson stole it all away.

Synthetic Adrenaline Music came blasting back with a 2010 album that truly sounds unique and absolutely makes the dancefloor the DJ's b**ch track after track! Even with the help of Last.fm nothing else even comes close to the sound of this album, and for an fans of aggressive, powernoise-esque, 140+bpm music this is a real treat.

Aesthetic Perfection - All Beauty Destroyed

So Aesthetic Perfection finally announced the release for the new album, November 8th.  Honestly I wish this post was about a leak of the album but no its just news for the album.  Probably will be one of the best industrial albums of the year.  Preorder it here: delicious

Alien Vampires - Harshlizer [2010]

Release Date: December 3, 2010

Children, avert your eyes. Now, like any human, I judge books by their cover. I look at Harshlizer and I think to myself, "NEVER WILL YOU REACH MY EARS!" and perhaps you may be thinking the same thing while you read this. But that was then, and this is now. Alien Vampires is known for their vulgar brand of harsh ebm, and 99% of the time that style turns me off, but I'll be damned if Harshlizer isn't an album you can't dance to nor bash your head against a wall. This is unbelievably catchy and brutal and I urge anyone who is even remotely into harsh EBM to check this out.

Hatemagick - Cybermechanical Antichristian Phenomenon (2011)

Even though this album came out in February I've only discovered it recently.  It seems that 2011 has some decent industrial to offer however either most of it isn't released until the latter half of the year or it hasn't come out of the woodwork such as this.  Hatemagick is an EBM/aggrotech act from Norway that produces some sick music in the woods.  Wait the woods you say? Yes with the wolves.  Anyways some of their stuff (maybe all) they release for free so check it out and enjoyyy.

Detroit Diesel "Terre Humaine"

Imagine euro dance and trance mixed with industrial and harsh vocals. That is the beautiful epitome of Detroit Diesel's music. Hailing from the most kvlt province in Canada, 'Quebec', they have managed to fuse the craft of EBM with the craft of club dance electronica. This combination makes for a deadly duo and ultimately makes 'Terre Humaine' one of the most fun and well innovated albums in any diehard industrial fans collection.

Tonikom - The Sniper's Veil

An agent of darkness and variety, Tonikom bestows upon the masses an incredible sophomore release. Run entirely by one of the most attractive women to ever participate in the underground, Tonikom is under the label Hymen Records (which I find incredibly humorous). Her music is a diverse composition which combines drum and bass with IDM, aggrotech, and some dubstep, and is solidified with an immense and glorious sound-scape of dark/avant-garde ambience.

Hocico - Cronicas Letales IV [2010]

Released: October 31, 2010

The last chapter in the Cronicas Letales series, but certainly not the last album to be released by Hocico. Part 4 contains the 2004 LP "Wrack and Ruin" plus a rare compilation track. The second disc contains the "Hate Never Dies" remix album along with two tracks from the rare digipak version of "A Traves de Mundos que Arden".

Cronicas Letales is a four part anthology that books Hocico's first four albums along with lost remixes and tracks. The first part we have here includes their debut album "Odio Bajo El Alma" from 1997 plus a track from their early demo "Triste Desprecio" from 1995. Also included is their 1998 EP "The Cursed Land" and the 1998 mini-album "El Dia de la Ira". Electronic Saviors: Industrial Music To Cure Cancer

Electronic Saviors is one of the most inspiring projects to come out of any musical realm in a long time. A 5 disc, 83 track compilation dedicated to raise money for cancer research, this is something to be marveled over.  The comp spans mostly over the industrial genre and it's usual offshoots but it's one of the best uses of my money I've ever spent, consider buying this if you're a serious fan of the industrial genre. Needless to say with just about 1 song per prevalent artist in the genre today, this compilation is one of the best starting points for a newbie to the genre or a veteran looking for some artists they've maybe never heard of.

Aesthetic Perfection - A Violent Emotion

Daniel Graves aka Aesthetic Perfection is an up and coming aggrotech/EBM artist from LA, he's very good.
Mixing death metal growls and post hardcore screams gives his music a certain chilling effect needed to achieve it's greatness. Coming off 2 albums and heading into number three he is certainly an aggrotech artist you'd be silly to miss out on. Go ahead down below, be my guest.
